Winter Away is the brainchild of Philip Gasson, a seasoned veteran in the travel industry with a passion for adventure and exploration. Philip's journey in the travel world spans over three decades, during which he led thousands upon thousands of people on thrilling canoeing, climbing, sailing, and trekking adventures across Europe.

In 2018, after successfully running his own activity holiday company, Philip decided to pivot towards consultancy, sharing his wealth of knowledge to help other travel companies find their footing in the ever-evolving industry. Little did he know that this shift would eventually lead to the birth of Winter Away.

The Genesis of Winter Away

Winter Away was conceived out of Philip's personal quest for the perfect long stay winter package in the sunny Costa Del Sol. His vision was clear: he wanted to create a winter holiday experience that offered not only good weather but also good company and, most importantly, a fantastic time. He understood that the winter months in the UK and US can be a lonely and challenging time for many, and he was determined to change that by offering a place for older couples and families to have a long-stay winter holiday in the sunny Costa Del Sol.
